A Comparison between two economical and powerful devices OPPO Reno 10 5G | HONOR X9b 5G!

These two devices were very popular in 2023. One of them is from Honor, and the other from Oppo. Let’s make a comparison between these Honor x8b 5G and the Oppo Reno 10 5G devices.. I feel like no one makes comparisons about mid-range devices, even though they are very popular.

Let’s start with the design. Both of them come with a beautiful design. A point goes to each one of them. Let’s now discuss the screen starting with the Oppo device. The Oppo device comes with a 6.7″ curved screen. It is an AMOLED Panel with 120Hz refresh rate. The resolution is 2412×1080, it also comes with 394ppi density. The brightness reaches up to 950nits. The Honor comes with a 6.78″ curved screen, it is AMOLED as well with 120Hz refresh rate.

The resolution is higher here, as it is 2652×1200, it comes with 429ppi density. The brightness reaches up to 1200nits. The screen of the Honor device supports a feature called Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop. This feature provides 360 degrees protection for the screen. The point goes to the Honor device.

And the reason is because of the higher resolution, higher pixel density and the more advanced protection. The Oppo device comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 CPU with 6nm architecture build. The GPU is the Mali-G68. In Geekbench 6, the CPU scored 960 points for the single core and 2432 points for multicores. The Honor comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 CPU with 4nm architecture build. The GPU is the Adreno A710. In Geekbench 6, the CPU scored 939 points for the single core and 2781 points for multicores. When it comes to the CPU, both devices are very close, thus a point goes to each one of them.

The cameras of these devices are pretty good. The Oppo comes with 3 rear cameras, the main one is 64MP. The second is the 32MP zoom camera, and the third is the 8MP Ultra Wide camera. The front facing camera is 32MP. The Honor, however, comes with a 108MP main rear camera, it also comes with a 5MP Ultra Wide camera and a 2MP Macro camera. The front facing camera is 16MP. The front facing camera is better on the Oppo, but the rear cameras are better on the Honor. But how do these cameras perform? Both devices support recording 4K@30fps videos. They also record 1080p@60fps videos. The results were very good on both devices. However, the point goes to the Oppo device.

And the reason is because how its camera handle brightness and light. The photos of the Honor device were a bit washed out. What about the batteries?

The Oppo comes with a 5000mAh battery and supports charging with 67W. And the Honor comes with a 5800mAh battery and supports charging with 35W. One supports higher charging speed and the other supports bigger battery. That’s why a point goes to each device. You’ll have to choose between a bigger battery of a faster charging speed. Both devices support 5G and NFC technologies. The Oppo device supports either 2 sim cards or one sim card and another SD card. It supports bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6. The Honor device supports IP53 water and dust resistant. The screen is anti-scratch. There is a parity in points between these devices.

The Oppo device supports 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The Honor comes with 256GB of storage as well, but it comes with 12GB of RAM. And that’s why the point goes to the Honor device.

How about the prices?

The prices of these devices are the same. They both cost 370 USD, but you might find better offers for both of them. The Honor won 6 points, while the Oppo won 5 points.

The Honor device has one 1 point more than the Oppo. But both devices offer great features and capabilities. And it is up to your needs. Android mid-range devices have proven themselves to be a great competitor.

There are devices from companies like Tecno, Infinix and Samsung’s A series. Android manufacturers are producing mid-range devices with great prices, features and capabilities. What do you think of this comparison?

Make sure to evaluate your needs before you make a decision.

See you later.
