Bring your cup coffee, today we have this new device to review: Vivo V20! đ€ Good or not good for you? đ
This device comes with 3 rear cameras, one of them is more than just a Wide angle lens. Also, the front facing camera is 44MP, And it supports fast charging up to 33w.
This is the new Vivo device, which was released in November 2020, This is the Vivo V20. Let me start with the design of the device.
The device comes with a 2.5D glass on the back. This glass resists fingerprints well.,There’s a rectangular on that houses the rear cameras. The front is almost entirely occupied by the screen, and it comes with a small teardrop notch.
The thickness of the device is 7.39mm and it weighs 171g. The CPU is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G with 8 cores and 8nm architecture build. The GPU is the Adreno 618.
Let me show you the results of the CPU performance on GeekBench 5 test. In Geekbench 5, the CPU scored 556 points for the single core and 1647 points for multicores.
Here’s where the CPU performance is ranked among other competitors. PUBG games started with good smoothness on High settings.
The device supports Multi Turbo feature, which enhances the performance of games among many other options. These options include blocking notifications and phone calls and support for Esports mode.
This will help providing the best performance while gaming. The battery is 4000mAh, and it supports what Vivo calls Flash Charge with 33w.
According to Vivo, this technology charges the battery from 0% to 65% in 30 minutes. By the way, the charger that comes in the box supports whatever country you’re in.
The screen is 6.44 with 2400×1080 resolution. The screen is AMOLED FHD+.
The screen’s aspect ratio is 20:9, It also has 408ppi density, The screen is beautiful and provides saturated and warm colors. All in all, the screen is satisfactory.
The V20 has 3 rear cameras. The main camera is 64MP with AF support. The second camera is 8MP, and it is a multifunctional camera. It takes wide photos and supports Bokeh photography.
It also supports what Vivo calls Super Macro, The third is the Mono 2MP camera, and it helps with isolation and enhancing colors’ quality. The front facing camera is 44MP with AF support.
The cameras with a dual LED flash, and uses algorithms in enhancing the photography experience. I’ll showcase a number of different modes supported on these cameras.

Let me discuss them now: The main camera takes beautiful photos. The details and quality are very good.
The colors are saturated and warm. All in all, the results are satisfactory. The Ultra Wide camera takes 120 degrees photos. The details it provides are good with saturated colors.
The warmth in these photos are higher than that of the main camera. The device supports zoom using the main camera.
It supports 2x optical zoom with good and satisfactory results and up to 10x digital zoom using software, But of course the quality will decrease since it doesn’t use the camera lens, rather it uses software. Portrait photos are satisfactory.
The isolation is good, but it varies from time to another, And this is normal with this devices from this category.
Hopefully, it will be enhanced with future software updates, By the way, the more light directed towards you, the better the quality of photos and isolation will become.
In general, results depend on different circumstances, In night photos, the device captures light well, but sometimes the details are good, and others times, they’re normal. It shoots videos with 4K@30fps.
The results are good and the video steadiness is fair, The device supports a feature called Ultra Stable, This feature is supposed to offer better steadiness in videos but it only works with 1080@50fps videos.
The device also supports a feature called Dual View. To explain it simply, I can record myself using the front facing camera while recording something else. This is Dual View simply explained.
It also supports a mode called Movie Camera. This mode tracks objects in the frame and zoom when needed according to the movement of the object.
The front facing camera provides good results but the face skin is a bit beautified. Portrait photos are also good, but as usual, the isolation varies from time to another.
By the way, the Portrait mode supports a feature called Face Beauty. Using this mode you can beautify your face. For example, you can make your face look thinner and enlarge or reduce the size of you cheeks.
There are lots of other options, and I don’t want to discuss them all, so let me know in the comments what other options are supported.
These are good options, but don’t exaggerate in beautifying your face.đ€Ąđ
The front facing camera supports slo-mo videos with 720p@240fps. This device supports a feature called Steady Face, and thought it, the focus will be more on the face.
This is also another feature that Vivo focuses on for content creators where you can edit videos right after shooting them. Editing video is supported, but editing with more than a layer is something great from Vivo.
Let me now experiment with the front facing camera: Yellow light makes colors more saturated. Always check the settings of the camera and whether it is recording in 4K or FHD and the frame numbers. The higher the frames, the smoother the video will become, Which is always something good.
Let now go back to the internal specs of the device: The RAM is 8GB and the onboard storage is 128GB. The device supports 2 SIM cards and an SD card slot.
It runs Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 on top of it, It also fully supports Google services, The UI is light and easy to use. It is also very close to the Stock Android experience, The UI provides different shortcuts.
For example you can swipe up with 3 fingers to take a screenshot, Or you can swipe down with 3 fingers to enable Split Screen mode. The Vivo V20 comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, And after experimenting with it, it offers good speed and responsiveness.
It also supports unlocking using a picture of your face. It doesn’t come with dedicated 3D sensors, And thats why I don’t advise you to use it for better security.đ
The device supports dual WiFi, bluetooth 5.1 but unfortunately, it doesn’t support NFC.
The content of the box are a clear clover, fast charger that is compatible with your country, charing cable and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pros:đ
the device is made from high quality materials, which is great for this category since Mose the devices are made from plastic, But the build quality of this device is way better.
The screen is beautiful and provides beautiful and saturated colors. The performance of the device and battery in gaming is good. And it is such a great feature that the V20 supports 33w fast charging.
Cons:đ!
I wished that the screen came with a punch hole instead of the teardrop notch. But it is acceptable from this category, but it is still a personal preference.
It also doesn’t support NFC, which means you won’t be able to use services such as Mada Pay.
This device doesn’t support NFC, But do you need this technology?
Will the teardrop notch affect your choice?
Are the features that come with this device suitable for you to choose it?
Is this device a great choice from the mid-range category?
Always check your needs guys
