These are the best of what Samsung and Apple offer: Galaxy Note 20 vs iPhone 12 Pro Max.Hello guys, your best Coffee and welcome to this Comparisons with powerful challenges by OTTO Magazin. What do you think? 😈

Does this review deserve a like even before you reading it?

Before I start, let me remind you that the basis of my comparisons are the numbers. Technologies and specs are fixed with performances and numbers.

Let’s see who wins this comparison, Will the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra wins or is it going to be the iPhone 12 Pro Max?

One comes with a crazy price and the other comes with powerful specs. You are free to give points however you prefer. Continue the comparison with me.

Let me start with the design:

The Note comes with same Samsung DNA design we’ve seen with the S20 family. It is a glass sandwich with curved edges and a frame made from stainless steel.

There’s a hole-punch in the top middle of the screen to house the front facing camera. On the back, there’s a rectangular on the top left to house the rear cameras. On the bottom, there’s a special socket for the S Pen.

The S Pen is what distinguishes the series, and in the last iteration, the Pen has become more effective and responsive. The iPhone comes with full display with a top notch to house the front facing camera and sensors.

The screen is covered a ceramic shield that resists falls better. The back is made from glass with a square on the top left to house the rear cameras.

The frame is made from stainless steel, and its become bigger wider and similar to iPad Pro and iPhone 5. It merges the past with the present.

Who wins the point? Both devices are very elegant. Once you handle each of them, you’ll realize their quality. For me, I’ll give each one a point.

Let me now discuss the screens:

The Note comes with a Dynamic SuperAMOLED 2X display with 6.9 size. It comes with curved edges with 91.7% screen to body ratio. It comes with 3088×1440 resolution. It also comes with 496ppi density.

It is covered with CCG 7th gen layer, It supports HDR10+. It supports Always-On Display, where it shows the time and notification. It comes with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sensitivity.

The Note’s screen comes with the best specs.

The iPhone comes with an OLED screen called Super Retina XDR. The screen size is 6.7, And the screen to body ratio is 87%. The screen resolution is 2778×1284. It comes with 458ppi density. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. It comes with 60Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch \nsensitivity and supports True Tone Technology.

Who wins the point? It is clear.😈

Both screens are excellent, but the numbers indicate that the Note screen is better, thus the point goes to it. And honestly, the Note’s screen is very beautiful. The Note comes with the Exynos 990 7nm+ CPU in our region. It is an 8core CPU. And it comes with the Mali G77 GPU worldwide.

The iPhone comes with the A14 Bionic 5nm CPU with 5G support. The Note supports 5G too for a long time now, but this is the first time for an iPhone to support it. A series CPU from Apple are known for their power and efficiency and have always won performance tests.

Let me now discuss Geekbench 5 tests:😈

In Geekbench 5, the Note CPU scored 928 points for the single core and 2440 points for multicores. While the iPhone In Geekbench 5 scored 1590 points for the single core and 4009 points for multicores. The difference is clear.

Both CPUs offer excellent performance in all the tasks you throw at them. But numbers indicate that the iPhone CPU is better.

Let’s not forget that the Note’s CPU is capable of shooting 8K videos and support for the S Pen and many other features.

The point goes to the iPhone.😈

The Note runs Android 11 with One UI 3 on top of it. In vedio, the Note was running OneUI 2.5, But it received the update. The UI is excellent and beautiful and close to stock Android, and Samsung did a good job with it. It offers better S Pen features and better features for this big screen.

The iPhone runs iOS14 and receive updates frequently. This new OS offers new features and shortcuts that weren’t supported on the older iteration of it. It offers a new feature called App Library.

You can also hide home pages among many other features. It also comes with famous App Store. Both systems offer high performance.

Security is good with them and they receive frequent software updates. And in the past few years, Samsung have done a great job with their software updates. And we’ve started to receive security updates frequently in our region. It’s still not the best, but it is excellent for now.

Who wins the point?

Both systems offer great features and share many of them across the board. Android is an open source system where you can modify it, while iOS offers better stability.

The OS is the most important thing in this comparison. You should give the point as you wish. For me, I think both systems are excellent. No one is better than the other. The UI here is excellent while the OS there is amazing.

A point goes to each one of them.😈

Let me know in the comments which one you prefer. Let me tell you that comparisons take a lot of effort from us here at Tech Pills. Thank you to each one who liked our videos, subscribed to our channel and enabled the notification bell.

I really appreciate what you’re doing. These don’t bring us money, but it shows how much you love us and the effort we make.

Let me now continue with the comparison: Let’s discuss the secure unlocking:

The Note supports more than one way to unlock it. First, it comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also supports passcode and pattern. And it supports face recognition but with using a picture instead of 3D sensors. It’s not secure and not recommended.

The iPhone offers two ways: passcode and Face ID. Face ID offers high security using dedicated sensors.

Who wins the point?😈

We all agree that Face ID on iPhone is very secure.

But if you have a twin, then you might have a problem. There are more ways to unlock your device on Androids. The point goes to the Note as it supports more unlocking methods. And I don’t recommend the face recognition on the Note.

Let me now discuss the cameras:

The Note comes with 3 rear cameras, The first one is the 108MP Wide lens. And it uses laser for autofocus. The other two are 12MP, one a telephoto and the other is an Ultra Wide lens. The front facing camera is 10MP. The iPhone has 3 rear cameras. All of them are 12MP.

They are: Wide, Ultra Wide and Telephoto. There’s also a LiDAR sensor. We’ve seen this sensor before on the iPad Pro. The front facing camera is the True Depth 12MP lens.

Before I discuss the photography experiment, let me tell you that both of these devices have different color processing methods.

Samsung offer more saturated colors. For example red color is more red than in real life. On the other hand, Apple offers more natural colors like the ones we see with our eyes. It is a personal preference and I can’t choose between them.

Let me start now from there. In stills, both devices are excellent. But there’s a slight advantage for iPhone because of HDR. In Ultra Wide photos, both are excellent with the view angle.

The details are excellent because of the 108MP sensor. And on the iPhone they’re excellent because of the Deep Fusion feature. But sometimes, the Note offers better HDR photos. 5x zoom on the iPhone is better. But after that it become digital zoom.

On the Note, however, it supports 50x zoom thanks to the 108MP sensor. Zoom shots are better on the Note. In portrait, you can use the wide camera and the telephoto camera. Both are excellent with amazing sensors. But some times, there are few problems here and there with both of them. But on the iPhone they are less because of the LiDAR sensor.

For some reason, the Note provide pale skin color in portrait photos and the iPhone provide a more professional angle. Because it uses the telephoto lens to provide portrait effect. While the Note uses the Wide lens.

That’s why portrait phots on the Note gives the impression that the isolation isn’t natural and real. In Night portrait, the iPhone is better most of the time. But this criticism could change if the device receives a software update to fix them.

Cameras are the most important thing about the phone, and they always receive software updates.

Let me now discuss night photos:

Both are excellent whether using the wide or ultra wide lens, But there’s a slight change in colors. But in general, the Note is better. In 4K@60fps videos, the iPhone is better in detail sharpness. Especially when zooming.

With the wide lens, the iPhone provides better sharpness, It’s worth mentioning that the Note supports shooting videos with 8K, which is very excellent. But the HDR will be weak and videos will be shaky. I advise you to use a tripod to minimize the shakiness.

And honestly, I don’t think users need 4K or 8K videos. But in 4K 60fps, both are good. In night videos, the results vary. Both are great with the front facing camera, but the iPhone offers wider angle if that’s important to you. Knowing that both offer wide angle with front the facing camera.

Selfie portraits are similar on both of them. But the Note is better as it supports wider shot unlike the iPhone. In night portrait, both are bad. I’ve discussed lots of mode, right?😇

You should focus on the modes that are important to you. And only then you’ll know which camera is better for you. But in this review, I have to include everything.

the front facing camera on the Note and iPhone: I have a light source about me. But if I turn all the lights on, there will be changes. Let me showcase the quality in different settings.

This is how the cameras perform when I am facing the sun. And this is how they perform when my back is facing the sun. To get the best results on both device you should adjust the lights, Both are very mature with their camera capabilities.

The cameras only need a separate article to discuss. Even if some is better than the other, both are very close to each other. You won’t regret going with either of them, if your main concern in photograph.

A point goes to each one of them.đŸŠŸ

Let me now discuss the batteries:😈

The Note comes with a 4500mAh battery, It supports charging with 25W, It also supports wireless charging with 15W, It also supports reverse wireless charging with 4.5W.

You could charge bluetooth accessories off this device using the reverse wireless charging feature, The iPhone’s battery is 3687mAh. It supports fasting charging with 20W. It charges from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes. It supports wireless charging with 15W but with using MagSafe charger only. But it is supports Qi wireless charging with 7.5W.

Who wins the point?🙄

Honestly, the Note wins it, It is better in every aspect.đŸ€Ą

Let’s also not forget that the charger comes in the box, Unlike the iPhone, which doesn’t come with a charger.

The point goes to the Note.💖

Let me now discuss communication and connectivity:

Both support 5G. Both support bluetooth 5. Both support WiFi 6. But your router needs to support WiFi 6 first. Both support NFC for different uses.

On the Note, it supports Mada Pay, while on the iPhone it supports Apple Pay and so on. Both support VoLTE and WiFi Calling and eSIM. But it depends on your carrier.

The Note can be connected to Windows devices which makes it easier to control. You can copy and move files with ease and even browse the apps.

Apple devices are compatible with each others.

Once you sign in with your iCloud, the ecosystem will being, and it is the best fully compatible ecosystem. But you should have all of Apple devices to enjoy it. If you don’t all Apple devices then it won’t be of any use.

Apple have mature and great technologies such as AirDrop and AirPlay. The comes with either 256 or 512GB.of onboard storage. The RAM is 12GB. You can use an SD card instead of the second SIM card and it supports eSIM.

iPhone comes with either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of onboard storage, It doesn’t support an SD card.

According to GMS Arena, the RAM is 6GB, You can connect the Note to an external screen and use it as semi-computer using the DEX feature. This feature isn’t available on the iPhone currently.

Who wins the point?

Connectivity and storage depends on your usage and other devices nearby you and whether they’re supported or not. But in this point, both devices are excellent. Each one deservedly gets a point.

Let me now discuss additional features:

Both support IP68 water and dust resistant, We could say that MagSafe feature is special for this iPhone. I am testing it, but to be honest, I am not convinced with it. But I’ll give it time.

The idea behind it is that accessories can be attached to using magnets. Accessories such as covers, charges and even wallets.

We’ve started to see companies make mics, cameras for this technology, but it’ll take time to know whether they’re practical.

The Note’s main distinguishing feature is the S Pen. And today, the S Pen has become way faster. It’s more responsive, offers more shortcuts in writing, drawing and even with the system.

New special features has been added to it to make it more distinguishable from other Samsung smartphones. The Pen can be charged once inserted into the device.

You can press the button of the Pen to start recording a video or moving between slides in PowerPoint if you chose to do so.

Who wins the point?

As usual, it is called additional features. It could be important for some, and not important for others.

Personal preference is important in this comparison. But the Note comes with features that are not available with other smartphones. MagSafe is good but for me, I’ll give the point to the Note.

Let’s now discuss the last point: After purchase services & accessories:

The Note, It comes with a limited warranty for the screen, There’s also a warranty for factory defection, and supports official accessories and they’re sold in all regions.

the iPhone, The content of the box is the device and the charging cable. It doesn’t contain a charger or headphones.

The iPhone supports AppleCare, but you have to pay for it ,to get a warranty for the screen. Service centers are not available in all regions.

Which device wins the point?

The going deservedly goes to the Note. Because the box contains all the accessories.🧠

The price of the Note is similar to the price of the iPhone, but the iPhone doesn’t have a headphone or charger in the box.

Both devices come with a charging cable, though. In some markets, it also comes with a silicon case, which is the case in our market. The box contains all the accessories you need.

The Note deservedly wins the point.

😈 Oh My God! The Note has won this comparison.đŸ’„đŸ’„đŸ’„

But there are lots of things I said about the Note that might not mean much to iPhone users. This means that for them this iPhone might have won it. But at the end, it is up to you to choose what you prefer. If you’re not a user of any of these device, then the Note might offer you more options.

It’ll enrich your experience, especially in business. This is the end of this review. What do you think of this very lengthy and tiring review?😅

See you tomorrow with new reviews 😍😇
