All 52 devices were set to the same settings, same brightness, and same white background. We’ve done this all to test one device. This device is from HONOR, and it is the HONOR 90:
This HONOR 90 device supports a feature called Flicker-Free. This technology will help in protecting your eyes from stress.
Let me now introduce you to the HONOR 90 device:

Let’s first start with the design, which carries the same design language of HONOR devices. The back is comes with a matte with two circles to house the rear cameras.
The front is mostly a screen with side curves and punch hole in the middle to house the front facing camera. The device is mostly made from plastic. The device comes with a protection
cover in the box, and it weighs 183g. The thickness of the device is 7.8mm.
All of these devices are different with different specs. However, despite the price of the HONOR 90 device, its screen standout from the rest.
The screen is 6.7″ AMOLED and it comes with 2664×1200 1.5K resolution. The screen to body ratio is 93.3%. It supports DCI-P3 with 100%. The screen supports up to 1600 nits of brightness. The screen’s aspect ratio is 19.9/8.9, approximately 20/9. The screen comes with 435ppi density. And it supports 120Hz refresh rate.
The screen is TĂĆV Rheinland Flicker Free certified. This is the technology that we’re going to test, it’s worth mentioning that the screen supports
PWM/3840Hz touch sensitivity, it also supports HDR10+ and Always-On Display.
Let me now discuss the Flicker Free technology;

My team and I have gone through lots of things to prepare the wall behind me. We’ve managed to hang these 52 devices. This has resulted in 2 concerns. We’re afraid that a device might fall from the wall. đđđ

The second thing is that one of the screens turns off. Some devices don’t support keeping the screen turned on, unless you use a third party app. Before we discuss this experiment, let me first wrap up the specs of the device.
The device comes with the SD 7 Gen 1 CPU with 8 cores and 4nm architecture build. The GPU is the Adreno 644. In Geekbench 6, the CPU scored 1131 points for the single core and 3254 points for multicores. Here’s where the CPU performance is ranked among other competitors.
PUBG game started with the high settings and scored 60fps. HONOR has partnered with PUBG to be part of the Mobile World Invitational 2023 challenge.
How about the cameras?

The device comes with a 200MP main camera. The Ultra Wide is 12MP. There’s another 2MP isolation camera. The front facing camera is 50MP. The main camera provides very good performance and light withdrawal.
The colors are balanced in most conditions. The Ultra Wide camera provides warm colors, and over all, the performance was good. Portrait photos offered good isolation. The device supports 10x digital zoom. This means that the zoom photos are a bit grainy. The device supports night mode, and it perform very well with light withdrawal. The quality was very good.

The video quality is 1080@60fps which is very good, it also supports 4K@30fps videos, however, the quality wasn’t the best. The front facing camera provides very good outcome with cold colors.
In portrait photos, the isolation and colors were good. In general, the cameras do their job well. And this is how the camera performs with different light settings, video is using the front facing camera with Noice Cancelation enabled. And this is how the camera performs in different light settings. Based on the results of these tests, the cameras provide very good performance.
What is the thing that we’re trying to prove with the Flicker Free technology?
The shutter speeds affects the screen, the screen’s refresh rate adapts to the Hertz. This constant change of refresh rate causes eye fatigue.
That’s why HONOR partnered with a technology manufacture to minimise this flicker to the minimum. This makes the screen flicker free.
This doesn’t create eye fatigue, especially in dim areas.
We’re making this experiment to prove if this technology does its job or not.And based on our experiment, it has been proved that the HONOR 90’s screen is indeed flicker free.
Let me remind you that the HONOR 90 isn’t from the High Premium category, rather, it is from the Mid-premium category.
Even though the device comes with 200MP and a huge 5000mAh
battery, it still packs more technologies to protect your eyes.
The device runs Magic OS 7.1 on top of Android 13, and it fully supports Google services. This UI is known for its shortcuts and ease of use. With time, you’ll get used to the shortcuts to make it easier to reach what you want faster.
The device either comes with 256GB or 512GB of storage. The RAM is either 8GB or 12GB.
The device supports WiFi 6, bluetooth 5.2, NFC, eSIM or dual sim cards. The device is equipped with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen. The device has a 5000mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging. Based on our experiment, it charges from 0% to 100% in 53 minutes. We’ve done this experiment multiple times.
The box includes the device, charger, charging cable and a protection cover. The device comes with 3 colors: black, green, silver.

Pros: đ„č
The device has a 200MP main camera! It also supports and tested and proved Flicker Free technology. It supports high touch sensitivity with PWM 3840Hz, and it also supports fast charging with 66W.
Cons: đđđ€
I wished that it supported an external SD card. I also wished that it supported stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos. I wished that it supported an official IP standard. With this device, HONOR provides its customers with new technologies and a balanced price.
What HONOR device has caught your attention this year? đ€
What do you think of this device?
The experiment we’ve done with this device was great! This allows us to test more devices with the same method in the future.
This experiment proves that HONOR is serious about their technologies. If you notice, some of the device behind me have turned off. These devices don’t support allowing the screen to be turned on indefinitely. These devices are old Android devices.

See you later.
