I’ll explain the new Samsung S23 series devices in a 90 second, Let’s start. The devices are the S23 Ultra, S23 Plus and the regular S23, The design of the Ultra hasn’t changed much, but the internals have changed. The devices now look like the Ultra version, especially with the rear camera design. All devices comes with Qualcomm’s latest SD 8 Gen 2.
The cameras have been improved. The Ultra version comes with a 200MP main camera. And it supports amazing photography capabilities. The photo size allows you to zoom in without losing quality. All devices come with 12MP front facing camera, but they all come with new technologies for better results.
The Ultra and Plus versions come with storage that starts from 256GB up to 1TB. The S23 starts from 128GB of storage. The devices come with 8GB of RAM, except for the Ultra version with 512GB of storage, as it comes with 12GB of RAM. The Ultra’s battery is 5000mAh, while the S23 Plus comes with 4700mAh and the S23 comes with 3900mAh battery. All devices have unified colors, and they come with 4 different colors. The colors are: black, white. green and lavender.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with the same previous design. But it comes with lots of enhancements and capabilities. The main enhacement is that the main camera is now 200MP. The screen is also now less curved than before.
The screen is now protected with a CGG Victus version 2. The glass layer is the toughest in the market. The frame is now made from Armor Aluminum. It supports IP68 water and dust resistant. The CPU inside is the 4nm Qualcomm SD 8 Gen 2. It comes with 8 cores, and the GPU performance is better than before.
The battery and overall performance have been significantly improved. The RAM is either 8 or 12GB LPDDR5. The RAM size depends on the storage size. The battery is the same capacity as last years, which is 5000mAh with 45W fast charging support. The device supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The screen is 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2x with QHD+ resolution. It comes with 500ppi density and up to 1750 nits brightness. It supports adaptive refresh rate that starts from 1Hz to 120Hz. The main camera is 200MP, with enhanced night photo performance, better light withdrawal with Astrography mode support. This mode enables you to capture photos of stars when the device is stabilized.
The software will help with this mode. And for the first time, the camera supports recording video with 8K@30fps. The second camera is the 12MP Ultra Wide sensor. The third camera is 10MP. The fourth is the 10MP with space zoom support. There are other rear sensors as well. The front facing camera on the Ultra and other devices is 12MP. It is better now when it comes with night photos and night portrait mode.
The OS is Android 13 with One UI 5.1 on top of it. The UI now supports better customization, and with a long press, you can customize anything on the screen. The device supports dual sim cards and eSIM. But it depends on your region. The device supports the latest bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. It unlocks using the in-display fingerprint sensor. It also supports Samsung’s Knox security system. I’ll discuss more details of this device in the full review.
Let’s now discuss the S23 and S23 Plus devices:

Both devices come with nearly the same design. Both of them have the same rear design as the Ultra version. Both of them are protected with a CGG Victus 2 layer. The frame is made from Armor Aluminum, and both support IP68 water and dust resistant.
The CPU is also the Qualcomm SD 8 Gen 2. The RAM is 8GB LPDDR5. The Plus version’s storage start from 256GB, while the S23 starts from 128GB. The S23’s battery is 3900mAh, while the Plus version comes with 4700mAh battery. Both of them support fast charging.
The S23 supports 25W, while the Plus supports 45W. Both support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The S23 comes with a 6.1″ screen, while the Plus has a 6.6″ screen. Both of them are Dynamic AMOLED, and both come with FHD+ resolution. But the ppi desnity is different in both devices. The S23 version comes with 425ppi density, while the Plus version comes with 393ppi density.
Both of them support adaptive refresh rate from 48Hz to 120Hz. The cameras are the same on the devices. The only differences are the screen and battery size. The main camera on both device is 50MP with Dual Pixel support and 85 degrees of view. The second is the 12MP Ultra Wide camera with 120 degrees of view. The third is the 10MP zoom lens.
The front facing camera is 12MP, and it is now better in night photos and night portrait mode. The OS is the Android 13 with the One UI 5.1 on top of. The same features on the Ultra are also supported here. Both devices support dual SIM and eSIM cards, but it depends on your region. Both devices support bluetooth 5.3, NFC and Knox system.
The fingerprint sensor is also embedded in the screen. For more details about the prices, check the link in the video description. From the first glance, the devices haven’t changed a lot. Those who have the S22 devices have no reason to upgrade.
The Ultra’s 200MP is the biggest change. And the new CPU inside them might bring lots of enhancements to the performance. We’ll be working on comparison reviews to discuss the differences.
