Let’s get familiar with the new generation of Chromecast! Everyone knows Google company! This company provide lots of services like a search engine and unique devices like this Google Chromecast.
Google released their 3rd generation of Chromecast, and compared to last gen, it is slightly faster. This new gen device supports playing content with 1080p@60fps.
This new gen, unlike the previous one which only supports 30fps, plays content with FHD and 60fps. There is a slight difference in design. THe front of it is not shiny anymore and there is the new Google logo on the back. Other than that, everything is same in design, which is circular.
The new device doesn’t have a back magnet that locks the HDMI cable to the back of the device, which was available in the 4K version of the previous year.
The new device has an integrated HMDI cable and a Micro USB port to power the device. You can connect the HDMI to the TV and give it power from the it too. It also supports dual WiFi 2.4GHz and 5GHz. It supports Netflix, Youtube, Spotify and the other services that are not available in our region like Hulu and HBO Now.
According to Google, the new Chromecast supports more than 2000 apps in FHD. All you have to do is plug it to the TV and install Google Home app, where you will be able to install Chromecast, It will ask you to name the device and where you want to place it.
Google Home App is easy to use. Using it, you can plug more than one Chromecast. You can rename these Chromecasts for more organization. You can also use it with Google Assistant.
Using Chromecast, you can do lots of things like broadcasting your computer or your phone. You can also use your phone to control the sound.
There is also a Guest Mode. If you enable it, those who want to broadcast shouldn’t be connected to the WiFi. Your guests can broadcast on your screen without knowing the password of your Chromecast.
I personally haven’t enabled it because I prefer to use Chromecast while on WiFi. You can broadcast all the files on your computer on Chromecast using the VLC and Video Stream apps.
You can also broadcast certain games on it, and you will find it in the store. Don’t expect games to have a great performance. Some games even won’t work.
We tried Alien Invaders game, and it performance was really slow. You can also use the Chrome browser to broadcast on the Chromecast.
Let me remind you that if you want to broadcast on Chromecast, you have to be connected to the same WiFi network.
Chromecast 3 is compatible with Google Assistant. It comes in black and white colors, and its price is 35 USD. But price may vary in every region, depending on representatives.

It is easy to use. You can broadcast your content on your devices. It is great for those who don’t have a smart TV and it is easy to use.
But if you have a smart TV from Samsung, LG and Sony, this device is supported with them. Some TVs have integrated Chromecast.
Cons:🤨
It doesn’t have a UI. It is controlled using your phone. But honestly, when you connect it to your phone, everything will be easy.
