This device offered high settings with PUBG game, And it comes with a 5000mAh battery. This means longer playing times.

All of this in this Samsung A42 device, and of course it supports 5G technology, (And we talked in a detailed article about the importance of 5G in the world, you can read it here), so, Bring your cup Coffee and Let me introduce you to this device, welcome again to OTTO Magazin: 😈

Samsung has announced a new device from the A series. It is the A42 device, They also brought 5G technology to it. Let’s get to know it. The device is made from plastic material. The back feels like glass. The back also comes with 4 gradient colors:

it starts from deep grey up to light grey, The front is nearly a full screen. It comes with the Infinity-U Display with a teardrop notch.

The device weighs 193g and its thickness is 8.6mm. The CPU inside is the Snapdragon 750G with 8 cores.

The CPU is build on 8nm architecture, The device supports 5G and the GPU is the Adreno 619. In Geekbench 5, the CPU scored 630 points for the single core and 1815 points for multicores.

Here’s where the CPU performance is ranked among other competitors. PUBG game started with the high settings with good smoothness. The device supports a mode called Game Booster. It’ll enhance the gaming experience and battery life while gaming.

With this mode, you can know the battery temperature and percentage. It also enables you to record the screen or take a screenshot while gaming.

The battery is 5000mAh. It supports fast charging with 15W, and the charger comes in the box. It charges from 0% to 35% in 40 minutes. The charger is for the Saudi market or according to your region.

Let me now discuss important specs of this device. The screen size is 6.6 with HD+ resolution. It is 1600×720 and the screen is Super AMOLED.

The screen’s aspect ratio is 20:9 with 60Hz refresh rate. These specs are logical for this category. The price of this device is very tempting.

The Galaxy A42 comes with 4 rear cameras. The main camera is 48MP with 80 degrees of view. The second is the Ultra Wide 8MP with 123 degrees of view, The third is the 5MP Macro and the fourth is the 5MP depth sensor. The front facing camera is 20MP.

Let me now discuss the photography experiment. The main camera offers good results. But it differs depending on different circumstances. The colors are a bit cold. The Ultra Wide’s degree of view is 123 degrees.

The results it offers are good and satisfactory. But unlike the main camera, the colors here are a bit warm. The device supports 10x digital zoom using the main camera. The quality is normal!

Since digital zoom uses software. Portrait photos offer good isolation, especially with humans. The result will vary with trees and objects, but in general, it does its job.

Let me remind you that devices receive updates to enhance the camera performance. The cameras shoot videos with 4K@30fps.

The quality is acceptable. The colors are bright and cold. The shakiness is a bit high. But the device supports Super Steady Mode, which enhances the stabalization of the videos. But the resolution will be 1080p@30fps. For normal users, 1080p resolution is excellent.

Front facing camera provides acceptable photos. The details decrease in certain circumstances, but in general, it does its job.

I advise you to use lights directed towards you while taking photos or recording videos. Portrait using the front facing camera vary in quality.

Sometimes, it doesn’t isolate well, especially if you wear glasses. But in general the results are acceptable. I notice that while recoding a video, my fingers touch the screen. Which is bothersome, especially while locking and unlocking the device. But it could only be me and my hands’ size. This has been a video test of the A42 5G device. I use lights here to make the picture even better. And without light, but still, the colors and color processing are beautiful. The RAM is 6GB and the onboard storage is 128GB.

It supports 2 SIM cards or one SIM card and an SD card up to 1TB. It runs Android 10 with One UI 2.5 on top of it. It’s known for its ease of use and smoothness.

The UI supports transferring files between Samsung devices using the Quick Share feature. Users can share files between Samsung devices that support, this feature very quickly. It supports side bar for accessing frequently used apps. It also supports opening two apps at the same time.

This feature is available in Note and S devices. By the way, the store is the Google Play, and it fully supports Google services. The device supports bluetooth 5 and dual band WiFi.

It also supports NFC and is compatible with paying services. The device comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. And after experimenting with it, it offers acceptable responsiveness. It supports unlocking using face recognition. But uses a photo instead of dedicated 3D sensors. I don’t advise using it since it is not secure. 😈

The box contains the fast charger, charging cable and earphones. The device comes in Grey, Black and White colors.

Pros: 😍

it supports 5G, which is great for this price category. The battery is 5000mAh. It offers excellent performance with games such as PUBG.

The device is suitable for daily use and for medium games.

😈 The camera performance, however, isn’t the best.

There are other options in this price category with better camera performance.

The build quality is normal, and the fingerprint sensor performance isn’t very smooth.

The device, though, comes with good specs from specs with this price category.
