Review 283: 09.01.2022 at 02:00 pm by OTTO:
Every now and then companies release new products with amazing design that most users prefer to the specs. Look at the panel and its changing colors. This is the first of its kind tablet directed to gamers. It comes with a high refresh rate screen, and overall, the device is light and easy to mobilize. Let me introduce you to the Asus ROG Flow Z13. đ
Peace be upon you all. â I’ll review a first of its kind product from Asus. The product is newly released. The tablet was announced in the current CES event, and I now have it in the office. Keep reading to find out the pros and cons about this device to help you make up your decision. đœ
The tablet is made from metal. The devices weighs 1.1Kgs and its thickness is 12mm. The weight of the device along with its specs are great. At the top, there is 2 cooling slots. And between the slots there’s a Republic of Gamers logo.
At the back, thee’s a rear camera and other cooling slots with an OG engraving. And at the top, there’s a sentence that reads: « For Those Who Dare. » There’s also a transparent panel on the back, where you can see some of the internals of the tablet with RGB lights. And there’s also a mount base to fixate the tablet on a table. Behind the mount, there’s a M.2 slot, where you can use to up the storage. It is an excellent feature. There’s also another slot for an SD card.
For now, everything about this device is greatđ. I really like the transparent panel with the RGB colors. The tablet also attaches to an external keyboard using magnets. The keyboard is backlit chiclet with RGB colors, too. Most of the front is occupied by the screen, yet, it also comes with a front facing camera The screen is 13″ with 16:10 aspect ratio and it supports touch input.
The screen resolution is 4K and it supports 60Hz, which is great for gamers. There’s another version with a screen that supports 120Hz, and I’ll discuss it later. The screen supports DCI-P3 with 85%. It also supports Adaptive Sync, which adjusts the frame count with the screen’s refresh rate. Dolby Vision is also supported. After experimenting with it, the screen offers saturated colors with satisfactory contrast. It is great to watch content, play on and even for design.
The tablet can be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM LPDDR5. The storage is up to 1TB SSD PCIe M.2 Gen 4. The device uses AI to support Noise Cancelation, it also comes with 3D mics. This means that the device is directed at gamers, it’d be great if there’s a future device similar to this that can compete with it.
Let me remind you to bring always your best Coffee every morning to know the latest of technology with OTTO Magazine, đđ” The device supports WiFi 6e,đœ but you need a supported router to benefit from it. Though, it works with all older routers. It supports bluetooth 5.2. The device comes with a USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support. This port can be used to charge the device, too. There’s another XG Mobile Interface port, which I’ll discuss in the full review of this device. There’s also another USB-C Gen 2 port, USB 2.0 Type A and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The tablet comes with 2 speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi Res Audio support. This ensures that the audio on this device is great, even though most gamers use headphones. The tablet runs Windows 11 Pro. I’ll tell you more about the price and availability once they’re available. The device has just been announced. đ€·ââïž Keep tuned since there are other great technologies coming to the magazine soon. đđš
Pros:đ
It is a capable tablet for gamers. It is made from metal and can withstand heavy duty usage. The screen is excellent for a tablet with this size. I am excited for the software updates and support so that we can make a great comparison reviews.đ
Cons: đ€§
Despite the great audio technologies supported on this tablet, the audio experience isn’t the best. For now, we have no idea about the price. This is a new opportunity for Asus in our region and the world to compete in a new category. đ„ł
This is the end, đSee you later.â
