Review 129: 26.08.2021 at 07:00 pm
Hi Guys, Okay Joker, Today i will review Two devices competing with each others in prices and specs, They are the Pixel 4a 5G and the next review, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
The Pixel device is considered from the mid-range category, it offers an excellent photography experience, it also frequently receives software updates from Google, But the device only supports physical one SIM card. It is not also not officially available in the region, but you could buy it off the internet.
The device is mostly made from Polycarbonate materials. The back is curved and comes with a square at the top left to house the rear cameras. The front is mostly identical to the Pixel 5’s front. It is mostly a screen. There’s a punch hole that houses the front facing camera. You’ll notice the differences, however.
The thickness of the device is 8.2mm, which is good. It weighs 168g, and it is considered very light in the had compared to other devices with the same size.
In general, the hold of the device in the hand is very comfortable, especially when used with one hand. The CPU inside it is the SD765G with 5G support. It comes with 8 cores and 7nm architecture build. The GPU is the Adreno 620. In Geekbench 5, the CPU scored 594 points for the single core and 1600 points for multicores.
Here’s where the CPU performance is ranked among other competitors. But the Nord 2 won’t be in it. I’ll tell you about the the Nord 2’s performance towards the end o this review.
PUBG game automatically started with the high settings. The frames and performance was very good. This is the performance this device offers. The battery is 3885mAh. It supports charging with 18W. After experimenting with it, the battery charged from 0% to 50% in 30 .minutes The screen is a 6.2″ OLED panel, it comes with FHD+ 2340×1080 resolution, which is a weird dimension.
The screen comes with 413ppi density. It supports HDR. After experimenting with it, the screen offers natural colors with deep black, and in general is suitable for daily use, it is suitable for nearly all daily usage. The device comes with the cameras; the first is the 12.2MP wide camera with Dual Pixel support, it supports OIS and EIS.
The second camera is the 16MP Ultra Wide, The front facing camera is 8MP. Before I discuss the photography experiment, Pixel devices are known for the cameras, if you watch previous reviews of Pixel devices on my channel, you’ll know how much I commend them.
The Wide camera offers excellent photos, the photos are balanced from all aspects. The colors, the sharpness and dynamic range are balanced. The secret here is the algorithms, where Google has changed the game through.
The Ultra Wide camera offers similar photos to the main camera. But in some cases, the photos will be a bit warm. In general, the photography experience won’t disappoint you at all with this device, its nearly costs 586 usd.
As usual, portrait photos offer amazing details and isolation that it could be the best in the market now, To get the best results, make sure that you’re facing a light source.
As usual, too, the video performance was excellent:

Stabilization was also excellent, We recorded the video while we were nearly running, and the stabilization decreased the shakiness. The mic’s performance was very good. The device supports 7x digital zoom. The results it offers are good and acceptable.
In general, the device offers better performance than most of the devices in this category. It supports recording videos with 4K@60fps. And it offers satisfactory results. Te colors are beautiful, and the stabilization works fine. The front facing camera also offers very good performance. The colors are warm and natural, and the details are satisfactory.
In general, it won’t disappoint you. In portrait, the isolation and and details are excellent. The device is a monster when it comes to photography, whether in stills or videos.
Let me continue discussing the specs:
The RAM is 6GB and the onboard storage is 128GB. It supports a Nano SIM and an eSIM. It runs Stock Android 11. The OS is known for its fluidity and smoothness. What’s great with this device is that it’ll receive updates from Google directly as soon as they are available. It is similar o the iOS on iPhones from Apple.
The device supports bluetooth 5 and dual band WiFi. It also supports NFC, where you can use it for payments. You can also use STC Pay wallet on any device. The Pixel device comes with rear mounted fingerprint sensor. After experimenting with it, it offers high responsiveness.
The box contains the device, quick charger and the charging cable.
How did I order it? And how much did it cost?
The price of the device is 599 USD, I ordered it through S4L. They buy it for me, I pay for it and they send it as soon as it arrives. This way, I have an official party to help me bring these devices in case I want to review them.
Let me summarize my experience with this device:
The device is supported by Google and receives frequent updates, The camera performance is crazy. Google was able to balance between the software and hardware, The colors of the screen are saturated, beautiful and offer deep blacks. I consider it to be one of the best screens in this category.
Cons:đđđ”
I wished it supported dual SIM cards, since most of the devices from this category support it, it’s also disappointing that it doesn’t support external SD card. The battery size compared to other devices from the same category is small, considering its price. And it is not officially available in all countries. It might be a risk to buy it. đ±
All the warranty papers I have are from the US. If something happens to the device, then I have to send back to the US.
Guys, wait a next review, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. đ» Cons and pros….đ€Ą
See you soon.
